Which team sports do you find the most grossly over-paid players?

I like team sports, don’t get me wrong. But I notice that certain ’stars’ in some sports get more money than ‘I’ think they deserve. The # 1 sport for over-paid (and over-hyped) athletes is basketball. But some ’stars’ in baseball are definitely over-paid as well.

I mean i think they are all highly overpaid, but just listen to this crazy ass stat:

ARod makes around 37000 per at bat. Regardless if he hits a HR, strikeouts, or whatever, he makes 37 grand every time he goes to the batters box. (This is given that he has 600 AB’s per season). That is just absolutely unreal.

Im not saying ARod is overrated at all, he is the best player in the game (IMO) by far, but that is absolutely ridiculous.

Again every team sport has alot of overpaid players: In football there is the horrible Michael Vick with one of the richest contracts (around 18 million a season). In basketball Allan Houston is the second highest paid player in the NBA TODAY, he hasnt played a game since like 2004 and he is still getting 20 million a season b/c the Knicks are morons. Thats just unbelievable.

I have to agree that its basketball, but i at least respect the way they have contracts set up. Like a rookie cannot come straight in and make a certain amt of money and cant make more than an NBA vet. Stuff like that, but again Penny Hardaway and Allan Houston are still making an assload of money and havent played in forever, thats just ridiculous.

I’d agree with baseball especially with it being slightly less of a teamsport than basketball.

Obviously, when you think of money in sports I at least think of Alex Rodriguez. The man gets paid $252 million, and last year he gets booed at Yankee Stadium. This season he’s getting paid $27 million. Even LeBron James in the NBA is a money superstar. He just signed a new contract worth $60 million.

without question it’s a tie between baseball and basketball. some players in baseball just have ridiculous contracts, more so than in basketball. or so it seems that way.

Both basketball and baseball the salaries are out of hand and real the average fan wont be able to attend unless he takes out a loan to go to the game…i dont go no where near as much as i used to..i have better things to spend $100 on at that is the avg just for on eperson after you pay for parking a decent ticke and a beer and a dog and a program
