Why does that chuckle head on sports center keep calling Jimmie Johnson’s car "the per diem car"?

Never the #48 or the Lowe’s Chevy or anything remotely intelegent, just "the per diem car".

Because he’s uneducated. It is a "big, fancy word" that he heard someone else use, so he uses it to seem smart to the fans. I personally would use, reliable, steady, work-a-day or consistent to describe his car, which is always running up front, which is great, except he beat Matt Kenseth yesterday. (damn you Matt for not taking four tires!)

    per diem [(puhr dee-uhm, deye-uhm)]

A Latin phrase meaning “by the day.” Traveling sales reps or government workers often are paid a per diem, meaning an allowance out of which to cover daily expenses while traveling.

since Jeff is part owner in the car, perhaps it refers to the money made on that car , who knows it really sounds dtupid tho

The fact that you used the term "chuckle head" made me laugh out loud. I don’t hear many other people use that term.

But yeah, he was an idiot.

…Probably because "per diem" is extra spending money added on to the pay check and since Jimmie has won so much they may be refering to it as the car that is bringing the extra buck$.
