ESPN recently showed a really cool feature on chessboxing, inlcuding statements by Lennox Lewis (!) about chessboxing. This is a slightly shortend version.
chess has nothing … chess has nothing in common with boxing, they must be kidding if they think so or just awfully bad at any kind of strategic game. either way it isnt funny. what awful bad taste people can have.
That’s what people … That’s what people said about MMA 10 years ago. Look how big it is now. You could make the same comparison with the world series of poker. In 1999 it was a sideshow with only 400 entrants playing for 1 million. Now the fields for the main event numbers thousands of participants and last year the first prize was 9 million with flagship coverage by ESPN. You never no what’s going to happen in 10 years. Maybe chessboxing will fade into obscurity, or maybe it will be as popular as poker or MMA.
