BREAKING NEWS: DAVID CAMPOS RECEIVES SF
BAY GUARDIAN's # 1 ENDORSEMENT!
-"The race to succeed Tom Ammiano,
who served
this district with distinction and is now headed for the State
Legislature, is a case study in the advantages of district elections
and ranked-choice voting."-SF Bay Guardian 10/08/08
-"Campos,
a member of the Police Commission and former school district general
counsel, arrived in the United States as an undocumented immigrant at
14. He made it to Stanford University and Harvard Law School and has
worked as a deputy city attorney (who helped the city sue PG&E)
and
as a school district lawyer. He's been a progressive on the Police
Commission, pushing for better citizen oversight and professional
police practices. To his credit, he's stood up to (and often
infuriated) the Police Officers' Association, which is often a foe of
reform."-SF Bay Guardian 10/08/08
-"Ammiano argues that Campos has the right qualities to
serve on the board — particularly the ability to get six votes for
legislation — and we agree."-SF Bay Guardian 10/08/08-Check it out here!
A
Note from David
Dear Friends,
Tonight, we learned that the SF Bay Guardian has made their endorsement
for District 9 Supervisor. I am thankful and honored that
they have selected me for their first choice for District 9.
As a progressive, I have a great deal of respect and admiration for
what the Bay Guardian represents for the Progressive Community and this
endorsement is a tremendous honor.
Best,
David Campos

Tom Ammiano's Fiery
Endoresement of David!
Tom
Ammiano's speech was just one of many exciting events at David Campos'
headquarters grand opening party on Friday, September 5th. The crowd
filled the room and spilled out onto the sidewalk as President of the
Board of Supervisors Aaron Peskin, former SFUSD Superintendent Gwen
Chan and David himself spoke about the
issues facing residents of District 9 and David's qualifications to
address those issues.
The
evening was an excellent way to launch into the last two months of this
election cycle. It was wonderful seeing so many friends, family members
and new faces coming out to support David and his campaign!
David
Campos Only Candidate to Qualify for November Ballot Fee Waiver
Campos grassroots
campaign collects more signatures than all nine other District 9
candidates. In yet another show of grassroots strength, the campaign
for District 9 candidate David Campos collected about 1,600 signatures,
far more than any other candidate in the race and one of the most of
any campaign in the city.
SF
Pride
Celebration
I
am hoping that you had a wonderful Pride celebration this year.
To
see people from all over the world joining San Franciscans and
residents of the Greater SF Bay Area was truly incredible. We have
family and allies all over the world! We are truly living in incredible
times. The fight for equality is a very special one and we have seen
some great gains in the last couple of months. This Pride was... read

Merchant Walks on 24th Street
I
have been fortunate to have been able to start a conversation with the
merchants of 24th Street in the Mission. Erick Arguello, president of
the Lower 24th Street Merchants Association and Jene "Rita" Alviar, a
community leader, have been kind enough to introduce me to numerous
merchants on the 24th Street corridor. This is a very integral part of
District 9, and it is great to see... read

Cesar Chavez Parade
On
April 19th, we had the opportunity to walk in the Cesar Chavez Parade.
We had a great presence at the event. I am very grateful to my
supporters who came out and spent a Saturday afternoon with our
campaign. The parade was a lot of fun. The music and dancing were very
festive. It was also great to see the various labor contingents who
were there to honor a man who fought... read
