I’m a first timer and I took a bet. Miami vs new England pats. The thing said this with a box to check which one you think:
Miami dolphins (+10)
new England (-10)
I thought i took miami to win and they lost and I looked and it said I won the money I bet. What Is all this +10 and -10 stuff?
Thanks
So you didn’t know anything about the point spread… you just really though Miami was going to beat New England?
Nice.
they said they would check my ID, i gave them my Id number, so is that it, how would they still know if its me and not someone else, would they be checking age?
Yeah they are checking your age to make sure that you are of age to gamble. 18 in most states. And the ID number is how they check it.
When they lose big time, they tend to drag others into their mess. Why do people do that?
WRONG.. You must be talking about some degenerate loser.. Gambling Junkie!!
Fetish?? Thought that was having a thing for sucking a womens big toe..
There are just Sooo many sports gamblers who you would never even know to the have a bet. Ppl your talking about have been around the glass pipe to long..
Yeah. Are there any teams in the sports you watch that are sponsored by Gambling Organisations?
Also. Why is gambling focusing on sports instead of casinos or other forms of gambling?
Pro sport leagues generally ban any official contact between teams or players and gambling organizations or the act of gambling on sports. The bans are intended to avoid any hint that a player or team would adjust the outcome of a game in order to benefit people or organizations that are betting on the games.

Gambling organizations will take bets on ANYTHING that people are willing to bet on. People are passionate about sports and want to bet on them. Since the odds are not fixed so that the random luck of most casino games cannot give the house a fixed percentage of your bet, many people like to gamble on things that they can use knowledge to improve their odds of winning.
In a casino, knowledgeable playing can give you a slight advantage over the house (who still wins money from the less knowledgeable players) in Craps and Blackjack. However, the main skill that you can use in Blackjack is "card counting" and they will politely tell you to leave and not return if you are caught doing it completely in your head. If you use ANY device to count cards, you may be spending time in a jail or prison.
can individual states decide to allow sports gambling?
Of course. I’ve bet on sports in Vegas and A.C. By the way, I suck at betting. If you see me betting on a game, bet the opposite. I was in AC once and the Preakness was being run. I bet on a horse on a lark. My damn horse fell down before the first turn and he was an 8-1 shot.
Im interested in Gambling software to make spare money working from home. Ive been reading about a software program on this guys blog http://cebusandman.typepad.com/ and wanted to know if anyone has tried this sports arbitrage software so far or any other services or can recommend any services to me.
You can find the answer to your question below under casino/game reviews, as well as a list of some of the top USA friendly online casinos.
Good Luck!
I HAVE A SPORTS GAMBLING IDEA, BUT I DON’T KNOW WHERE TO START OR HOW TO PROTECT IT.
Hmmmmm … il put it this way .. i dont know what your idea is but lets presume its basic without any equipment just pen and paper ok … now its you vs the guys your trying to win money from yeah?? so keep your idea and dont tell anyone. Then there is no need for a patent and you will make plenty money much more than if you sell it to other people (which i also presume is the reason why your asking about a patent). If it works then milk it my friend and make all the money you can and good luck to you. Its a bit like killing two birds with one stone .. you stil make money and no one knows about your idea …
This may not be what your looking for but its just advice to think about. Best of luck butty
I’ve got a good start but sometimes I get greedy and I chase. Can someone help me stay grounded and allow me to make good money?
Please have an email if you respond. Otherwise, we can’t get in touch.
Only 1% of people who bet on sports do so profitably. Most likely you are NOT going to be one of those people.
What do they do? Well #1 they are disciplined. If you are not able to play in a disciplined manner, you might as well just send them your bank account info along with your password and just allow them to help themselves to all your money.
Think about the linesmakers in Vegas. These people know what they’re doing MOST of the time! Here’s the key – when they DO know what they’re doing, you can NOT beat the bookies in the long run.
The key to the profitable player is to study EVERY aspect – the game, the players, the teams, the coaches, the weather, the situation, AND-AND-AND the LINES that are being put out by the linesmakers. If you determine that Team A should be favored by 5 1/2, and the linesmakers are putting the line at 5 1/2, then you DON’T PLAY THAT GAME!
That’s the #1 thing that separates the professionals from the junkies. Professionals are going to spend hours and hours every week, and they are just going to find a small handful of profitable plays. When they determine the line should be 5 1/2, but the line is actually 8 1/2, then they will bet money on the Underdog. If they determine the line should be 5 1/2, but the line is actually 3 1/2, they will bet money on the Favorite.
A junkie just knows that there is a BIG GAME coming up, so he NEEDS to place a bet.
Profitable players don’t have a "favorite team" to bet on. They don’t HAVE to place money on a game just because it’s a big game. They just look patiently for weaknesses in the lines.
CAN YOU DO THIS??? 99% of the people out there can not. If you don’t understand what I’m talking about, or if you don’t know how to go about figuring out how to handicap a game, then you shouldn’t be doing this because you will NEVER show a long-term profit.
I am NOT one of these people that can profit from sports. Almost certainly neither are you.
It took me THOUSANDS of dollars before I accepted the truth that I cannot do this profitably. How much will it cost you?
ok maybe this question is a little vague. lets clarify What casino produces the best opening line based upon a final score? Now we all know that money moves the line, but if u put say 3 casinos openers together ex: tsn minus 3.5 cris sports minus 3 and sbg minus 4.5 and the favorite lost the game crissports would have the better opener .. hopefully this clarifies the question and raisies a tool for use to place your bets
As someone else said, what do you mean by "best"???
"Best" might mean the casino is always very accurate with their lines. This is bad for the gambler. The VERY RARE sports gambler who knows how to make a profit is looking for MISTAKES in the line.
For example, if a basketball team is getting 5 points and the expert knows the line should be 5, then that person will NOT bet on that game.
You are asking for the "best" opening line. In that basketball game, what would be "best"? To me, "best" would mean that the line actually was either 3 or 7. If the sports books had the line at "3", then I would place my bet on the FAVORITE. If the sports books had the line as "7", then I would place my bet on the UNDERDOG.
So "best" for the sports bettor is whichever casino makes the worst mistake with a line. If one casino lists a team at +7, but another lists that same team at +7 1/2, which one of those lines is "best"??? That would all depend on my analysis. If I thought the line was supposed to be +5, then I’d want to place my bet on the underdog with the casino that listed the line as +7 1/2. If I thought the line was supposed to be +9, then I’d place my bet with the favorite with the casino that listed the line as +7.
If none of this makes sense to you, then I’d strongly suggest you consider playing Parcheesi rather than sports gambling.
Hi, as part of a research project, i am trying to write a paper on the online gambling industry (not pure play gaming). Sites where you can wager money plus bet on sports events etc. I need the size of the industry by revenue, # of players, # of employees. Also challenges faced by the industry, the technologies they use and what services they provide to the users – what some use to differentiate from the others etc. Any help is greatly appreciated.
While there are many ways to gauge the size of any industry—by the number of employees, the output of products, tax receipts or customer count—the most common comparison is by gross revenues, or sales. When gross revenue is used to gauge the size of the gaming industry, it is a measure of how much consumers spend—or the operator wins—on legal gambling games. This appears to be an easy question. But the answers vary widely. For example, a Washington Post columnist claimed that "Legal gambling takes in" about $637 billion yearly.
