do community college sports count towards universities?

Posted by admin on November 12th, 2010 and filed under college sports | 2 Comments »

im a sophomore, and everybody keeps telling me that if i joint a sport it will look good for colleges. but the problem is i don’t like any of the sports at my school.

Not all students choose to participate in sports in order to get into university. That’s impossible as everyone has different likes and dislikes. And it’s mainly the private universities that would be most interested as to what one’s extracurricular activities are. Sports figure a lot because Americans put so much emphasis on athletics (e.g. sports scholarships). However, one may participate in other extracurricular activities and still be accepted. As long as you have at least one extracurricular and do your best in it then you’ll be fine.

How would i be able to get onto a college sports team without being scouted if thats possible.?

I go to a school where we don’t get scouted by schools at all and wanted to know if i could play division 1,2,3 sports? If it’s even possible.

Not poss,.

What can a college sports team do for fundraising?

Posted by admin on November 4th, 2010 and filed under college sports | 4 Comments »

I am president of a college swim club. Need some ideas to make some money and also donate some. Reminder: College kids can’t pay for much. Maybe a community fundraising? or asking from companies.

Hey Rhea

You could do something really simple. You get some scratch cards, put your emblem on them to personalize them. A donor scratches a circle and for a couple of bucks gets coupons to local restaurants. Each card comes with free shipping and raised over $100. It just needs to get done.

College students may not have a lot of money, so black tie diners are out, BUT they like to eat. You can do other things like have a BBQ or sell snacks. These ideas can be combined with any other fundraising campaign you put on.

How about a trivia night at a local bar?

Who do you guys think is the worst Division 3 college in sports?

Posted by admin on November 2nd, 2010 and filed under college sports | 1 Comment »

Im talking like football mostly, but you can also say something about baseball, or basketball also. Im just curious to see what people have to say. My buddy thinks Hiram College in Ohio is the worst college ever in sports, but I think there is a lot of other bad schools. Let me know what you think thanks a lot!

It varies from year to year. D3 colleges don’t give out athletic scholarships, so it all depends on the kids that want to go to that school for academics. Also, the worst college in sports would be a college without sports. Some is better than none. Even a bad team still goes out there, practices and gives it their all. I would give any college athlete props for competing not for a scholarship, but for the love of the game in college.

what is the most accurate way to predict the outcome of a pro or college sports game?

Posted by admin on October 31st, 2010 and filed under college sports | 2 Comments »

What is the most accurate way to predict the winner or loser of a pro or college sports game? it can be just from a guy who is accurate most of the time or some kind of video game simulation. Just tell me the sport, and how to accurately predict the winner. Thanks

The prediction of a forfeit in the midst of an epidemic can be very accurate.

Otherwise, the knowledge of the players abilities and general current trends and any available history for both teams when they have played each other before all need to be considered. Maybe that is why the commentators seem to be constantly reciting statistical information.

The coach plays an important role too.

There are other key factors involved that the general public may not know about such as influence on the players by friends, family members and private events.

Being a sports collegiate or professional might mean they should "put all that aside" but focusing can be very difficult in a stressed situation even when the conscious thought is definitely on the game.

I don’t know of any fool-proof method to predict the outcomes but I manage to "guess" correctly a lot more than I get surprised.

If I were to place wagers on the outcomes I’d likely have just the opposite results, though! Funny how that works!

Matt Shepard: “No Team In the CCHA uses its home rink and rowdy fan base to its advantage better than Ferris State. This game has been sold out all season long and the Bulldog faithful can’t wait to be the difference maker.”
